Looks like you'll have to pay 50-60 dollars for that key....

I know that if you loose keys a lot you may want to thing about programming your own spare key.

How is this passable? You must have 2 programmed keys. Start by putting key 1 in and turning on the ignition, but don't start.
Continue on with the 2 then the 3 key..... DONE! You have a programmed key and it cost only a few bucks.... not $50-$60.

Remember to think ahead.... nobody plans to loose a key but if you do.... then this could save you some cash having that extra key...

I bought the keys for $30 each at a local dealer. Some dealers charge $35 I hear. You can program them yourself, very easy do to; BUT you must have both the originals (wonder if you could trick it and use the first key twice - might could?)

Because we go boating (or will when the boat gets here), I got three extra keys (did not need extra clickers)

one for me
one for wife
one spare in the truck - hidden
one spare in the boat - hidden
one on the "spare Key rack" over the washing machine.

you can have a max of 6 keys, the two original and 4 spares, but to program the spares you should have the two original keys. I got all 4 of my spares at 38.50 each with the truck and programed them myself.

Check e-bay. There is a guy there that sells them for about 15-20 bucks. Have it cut at wal-mart or something, they did mine for free and then program it yoursely. It is real easy.

I'll second the eBay thing, I bought one for 14 bucks and works great. I'd look there for extra keys as long as you already have two so you can program them yourself (could save you some money if you ever do lose one).

you need both keys to program a spare. I'll have to hit the dealer this weekend and get one and then make a couple of spares myself from there.

(yes, it is a Get Smart reference!)
