ctupton,

Last I heard the DWI/DUI law here in TEXAS has gotten serious (finally).

Heres some info on the law: Texas DWI Laws Penalties

If it matters, I hope she gets slammed too. Sorry bout your truck man, that SUX.

I thought I heard a while back that in Texas there was a "He needed Killing" clause for murder. It was supposedly for people that kill dudes that rape their daughters and stuff.

Well, drunk drivers deserve no better treatment. I think that farking biotch that hit your truck should be hung on Monday Night Football during halftime.

Too many innocent people have been hurt and killed because of losers like that. It has to stop.

My mother in law works for Henderson County, I asked her about the DWI laws on MSN.

This is our conversation:

~CBS~ James "Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."® says:
M0M what charges do you face for a DWI?

PAM says:
YOU GET CHARGED

~CBS~ James "Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."® says:
yeah, thats a MICROSOFT answer

PAM says:
class b misdeameanor

~CBS~ James "Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."® says:
fines are as ?

PAM says:
up to 2000.00 with 180 days jail

~CBS~ James "Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."® says:
2nd offense?

PAM says:
same more jail

PAM says:
Third offense is a felony

fwiw, a common misconception is that uninsured motorist coverage pays for damages to your vehicle should the person be un(der)insured. actually though, it is strictly for medical treatment.

no uninsured motorist covers the vehicle... I've had to use it before.. and that was what mine was going on originally.. but her insurance does exist and they finally called me... mine is covering it then after it is all fixed mine will bill hers.. since I had the work already started by the time they got in contact with me.

Thats a relief. At least you won't be out of pocket.

I do feel your pain. I hadn't made my first payment and had less that 1100 miles on my truck when some skanky BIOTCH backed out of a bank parking spot right into my truck. There were people that saw it and I actually saw her at the atm when I walked in. She took off, but I chased her down and got her tag and gave it to the police. I didn't get any names or numbers for witnesses so it comes out to be a he said she said thing. And nothing happened.

Good news is that the only damage was my tail light was scuffed up and a little scatch above it. But, point is, it was a new freaking truck until this **** hit me and see gets away with it.

nothing happened to her because I didn't get witness' names or numbers. Had I of done that before chasing her down, then maybe. I told the detective that it happened in front of the atm, they could have taken the surveillence tape from that. Oh well.

TJ,

I dont mean to get in your business, or tell you what to do, but...I would not let that slide. She was in the wrong, she needs to take responsibility for her actions.

BUT, thats just my 2.

i had my truck for about a week when someone backed up into it at a starbucks. the space where he was backing up was so huge a semi could have backed up and not hit anything. this punk had his tv's and stereo on so loud he probably would not have realized if my buddies would not have ran out in front of him to stop him. the only damage was a small chip in the paint on the rear bumper all the way on the bottom. what a **** off.
