black leather vs tan leather
well i have always been a fan of tan--and the tan in the Lariat looks nice, but i am not a fan of the silver surrounding the dash controls...i test drove a white lariat that had black interrior and was blown away by it--it lookeed nice with the chrome but the woodgrainlooked differnt in there
so what are your thoughts
black vs tan
and why you chose or would choose

I went with the black leather because it looked very sharp and I'd had tan in so many vehicles before. It was definitely time for a change. I also live in the NW, so it's not like the black seats are gonna get really hot.
I have the tan color
Went with tan for a couple reasons. Probably most important was the heat factor. The black interior of past vehicles got real hot where I live.
I do like the look of the black though, and it will likely require less maintenence to keep in nice looking.
As a side note, the other day I saw a black truck with the light interior and it looked really nice with the contrast.

I ordered black just because I like the way it looks over the tan. Now, I've just found out that the USAF is send me to Phoenix, Arizona for the next few years, but I remember someone from Palm Springs (Sorry can't remember the name) saying that his black leather didn't get overly hot there.
I like black. I know it's going to be hot during the summer, but I have AC in my vehicle for the first time in my life, so it can't be all that hot compared to what I've lived with to this point. I know if I got tan my dogs would trash it too.
They both look good. I chose the tan interior for my truck mainly because I prefer the lighter (brighter) interior. I also like the contrast with the black and it complements the Az. Beige accent.
Anyone planning on getting the tan leather should be prepared to clean it regularly. As Lenticular pointed out in a previous thread, it gets dirty easily...but also cleans up fairly easily. Regularly using the leather cleaner & conditioner is just another routine step in the care of the truck, to go along with cleaning the windows, vacuuming the interior and washing the exterior.

Are you going to remove your shoes before you get in? It's as bad as a Passat's beige interior.

I don't think cleaning the leather is any problem. The problem would be keeping the light carpeting and floor mats from looking like hell after a few months.
