Ford will release a "Steelers" branded F150 later this year ('04). Named for the famous Pittsburgh Steelers football team, and ostensibly to commemorate Detroit's historical relationship with the beleagured steel industry in this country, the new trim model is to arrive at a dealership near you this spring.

Now if they will just release the King Ranch F150!!!!

Ford's co-branded vehicles (Harley Davidson, Eddie Bauer, King Ranch, etc.) are unique to the full-size truck/SUV segment and represent Ford's commitment to 'Americana' and its consumer's various tastes.

Lets congratulate Ford on their commitment to the steel industry!!!

I know I'm about to catch crap for this post but I gotta do it.

Being the die hard LIONS fan I am (after all my username means Redwings, Lions, Pistons, Tigers #1) I wish Ford would come out with a LIONS edition. Maaaaan I'd trade in my bright red (notice that this is the Redwings main color) tomorrow if they did. I love my WINGS and Wingin up the bright red truck is fun, but I'm a die hard LIONS FAN as well and the Wings tricked out trucks are everywhere around here. I'm not talking about taking the silver truck and adding some badges, I'm talkin about making a Honolulu Blue truck with silver lower two tone. Sure the badges would be cool as well, but how about putting Lions Logos where the ovals are front and rear with FORD inside the Lions logo. Oh and a custom snapless toneau cover with a Lions Logo on it. The F150 sticker on the top of our windshield would say LIONS. Black tubular nerfs, Lions mudflaps front and rear. Black Manik grille guard and tail light guards. Make it a Lariat and in the interior get rid of that dumbass looking wood and give it the FX4 dash but with all the Lariat controls/emenities. Black leather seats with silver dyed stitching and Lions logos in the seats. Oh man I have to stop now...aaaaaaaaaah droooling.

TSSCS I see you liked that post. LOL Ok here's an option to satisfy other NFL fans. How about a limited NFL edition for the 32 NFL markets. Ford makes 100 custom team trucks in each market. Imagine the marketing that Ford and the NFL could do with that for the 2004/2005 season. I should work in marketing for Ford.

 

Boston area dealers used to market a "Patriot Edition F-150."

A friend of mine had a 1996 model. It was white with red & blue pinstriping and a small Pats logo on the front fender.

There is no mention of the "Steeler" edition on Ford's media site, which leads me to believe that this is a regional thing.

 

yeah, I agree. This appears to not be a factory produced version of the F150. Much like the "04" Harley F150's. Either aftermarket shops producing them, or perhaps dealers. A little badging, a little paint.

I live in pittsburgh and the steeler edition f150 has already been out. It said on tv to stop by your local ford store and look a one. When I bought my truck they said if I bought a black one they would make it a steeler edition one for free.

 

How 'bout the "Av's beating the Redwings Edition" for 2005. Big picture of Adam Foote crushing Kris Draper into the boards on the hood. Yes...I think I would pay top dollar for that!!
