Just wandering if you can get an FX4 in a solid color or are they all 2 tone? Also when can we start ordering 05's, I know they will be out in August but when will dealers start ordering them, just trying to get ready for mine.

I believe that Blazing Yellow is the only FX4 that forces you to get the two-tone color scheme. All other colors are available as solid on the FX4's. I ordered a Blazing Yellow FX4 and this upset a bit to know that I had to pay an additional $225 for the two-tone when I don't even want it. I got X-Plan though, so I can't complain too much.

Certain FX4 colors are available in one solid color only (Dark shadow gray), some in 2-tone only (Yellow/gray & white/gray), and the rest in one solid color or 2-tone (silver, silver/gray, blue, blue/gray, red, red/gray, black, & black/gray). One note, even if you get a solid color FX4, the wheel lip moldings will still be the gray plastic. I have the Dark Shadow Gray, so the wheel lip moldings blend in with the gray paint pretty well. Hopefully this helps.

X plan

I've heard of the x-plan and a-plan on here what are they and do you have to know someone to get them? Any extra help in my pocket would be nice.

Also if you get an FX4 with the flareside bed I think they make you get the two tone if I remember correctly.

Yup... Flareside requires 2 tone... trust me, I wanted solid red or solid black originally but ended up with black/DSG. I am very happy with what I ended up with however, the DSG looks very nice on the bottom.

I noticed you ordered a flairside. The two-tone paint is part of the package and you should not have to pay the $225. Check out Fords web site and build your vehicle.

My '04 FX4 SCrew is all one color - silver. Though I added some custom graphics onto it. Check out pics in my gallery (link in my signature).

I see no one is answering you....
x plan... you get from someone you know who works for Ford.
Some dealers will even get you an x plan number from someone they know. Employees of Ford get 5 x plans to give to non qualifying family, and friends.

A plan... you get if YOU work for Ford and for qualifying family members

Just a note.... after I bought my 04 FX4 with X plan, I saw the same truck for less than my x plan price....

My opinion now... unless the dealer is your brother they will screw you one way or another

My FX4 is solid Dark Shadow Gray. Only complaint is it looks plain with the gray plastic grill. I will have to swap that out in due time.

Thanks

Thanks for all the info. I really want the flareside but i want a solid white, so when I get a new boat it will match with white and blue. So I guess I'm back at the begining between a lariat and FX4.
