LT Sport Tonneau Cover
LT Sport Tonneau Cover
Just wondering of anyone with a 2004 F150 has purchased or seen one of these on a truck yet. I really like the look, and the fact that it is aluminium vs. fiberglass, but would like some personal inuput before purchase.
Thanks in advance

I went with the Undercover. The only reason for that is that the LT was not available when I was looking. If I had known they were going to change the way the LT Cover was made, (resting on top the rails) I probably would have waited for it to come out.
Have you looked at the pictures at the sight? They do have some there.

Yes, I did check out the pictures on their site. Looks very nice. I talked to them on the phone just before Christmas and they told me that they would be offering an over the rail model sometime in the next few months as well, but that they were having such a good response to the X-treme flat model, it would be awhile. When I first saw the flat one, I was a little disappointed, but after studying how the 04 rails are much less rounded to the body of the truck, I think the flat one looks very nice. I am probably going to go this route, but was really hoping to hear from someone first hand. Not planning on ordering for a couple more months, as have to pay off some Christmas bills first. Will post something after I install one.
THanks

Hey,
I really like that. Are there any shops that sell/install it, or is it online sales only?

From what I found talking to them on the phone, they are online only. You might want to call their 800 number to see if they have a dealer in your area. They indicated that they were in process of setting up dealers and asked that I mention their product to one of my local truck shops, as they had nobody in Houston. Looks pretty easy to self install though with a few simple tools. No drill install.

That is really nice looking I think. Being made from aluminum I would have to assume that it would be susceptible to hail damage. Not sure it would be the hot ticket here in Kansas, seems like in the spring we get more hail from our storms than we do rain. All the same it looks great and I would love to have one.
Anyone have this cover. I like the way it looks but would like some incite if anyone has gone this route for a cover. Unlocking it could be an issue as well as hail.

In appearance, the LT Sport looks nearly identical to either the (1) Glasstite Super Flat, or the (2) Gemtop GT Classic, the latter being of 24 gauge steel/plastic construction. In my locale, both are commonly seen, but I've never had a 'testimonial' discussion with any of the owners.
I just installed an LT Sport Tonneau cover on my new ride. However, I don't have any pictures yet. I like it. It's very easy to install but the installation instructions are BAD. I ordered mine about 6 weeks ago and it took about 4 weeks to be shipped to me. The paint matches my truck perfectly (Dark Gray) and looks pretty sharp. I'll post pictures as soon as I take some. Probably next week sometime. I also got the bed lined with Line-X and they did a beautiful job on it. I am very impressed.

How weather proof is it (especially when driving in rain)?
Do you think the cover will be damaged by hail?
Thanks,
Brian

As far as hail, I really couldn't tell you since it never hails in San Diego. The cover seems to be made of a very rigid quality aluminum. I'm guessing it could take a pounding and there would be very little damage. I take it you live in an area that gets hail quite often?
