O4 owners with fog lights

Another question (as I dont have my truck yet) does the fog lights come on with the park lights or are the headlights required to be on before the fog lights come on.

If the head lights must be on, can the tech article on (how to modify the foglights to come on with parklights) be applied to the 2004, I know its for the 2000 models but I thought it might work on the 2004 as well.

Sorry for asking so many questions.

Thanks for any info.

Fogs will work by themselves (with the parking lights) and also with the headlights.

I rigged my 01 Lariat SCab to work with the fog lights by themselves!....easy mod!

Fog Lights as DayTime Lights?

Is there a way to wire them to auto turn on once you turn on the ignition?

Not sure about getting them to turn on automatically. There was a post a week or so ago asking that same thing. There is a daytime running light aftermarket avalable from Ford. I think it is about $70. That may work with the fogs.
I know that the fogs turn off automatically when you hit the high beams.

You don't have to pull the switch out and turn it to the fog lamp icon like the 97-03 trucks, you just pull the switch out to turn on the fog lamps in the 04's while you head lamps or parking lights are on.

This is a big improvement over the 97-03's IMHO...

It drove me nuts on my L. Especially you can now leave the light swith in the "auto" position with it pulled out for fog lights. I have always preferred the look of a vehicle with fog lights so I always have them on. It is also cool that we can use them with just the park lights now.

How can you wire it to use just the fog lights and no parking/tail lights. When I go off roading sometimes I like use just fogs and no tail lights. I had aftermarket fogs on my other truck (99 F350 Superduty), ford didn't have fog lights on Super Dutys until 2001.

Hey YellowFX4SCrew, how did you get an FX4 with duel heated seats? That was an option that is only available on the Lariats they told me. I had to settle with just getting the black sport leather.
