What is "Job 2" at FOMOCO?
Can anyone shed some light in this term? I heard from a Ford Rep that any design and engineering changes/improvements to the '04 F150 production line, are to be included once "Job 2" starts in January.
I also heard that FOMOCO has a goal to reduce its production cost by $1,000 per unit starting with "Job 2", so this could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending if they de-option the product (remove features, etc.) or simply find less expensive means of production. I suspect that it will be a little of both.
Additionally, he mentioned that there is a small chance that the '04 King Ranch F150, as well as Sirius Sat Radio options, may be offered late in "Job 2".
The King Ranch version of the '04 F150 would totally rock ....

Job 1 is the start of production. Job 2 is the start of any mid year changes. It lists Job 2 on the orders so that dealers will know of the changes. They aren't much on the F-150, viny floor mats become optional on certain models (carpet still standard) and I beleive CD becomes standard on Lariat instead of CD+Cassette.
Job 2 changes on most vehicles this year are minor. Laste year saw more changes, but even then the customers didn't notice many of them.
