2004 Lariat Radio Problem

Sometime when I start my truck the radio comes on loud and distorted. You have to turn the engine off and start it again to get the distortion out and volume back to normal. Anyone else having this problem?

Does not happen with my FX4. Have you tried just turing the radio itself off and back on again??

Yes I have tried that. It did not help. The only way to get it back to normal is to shut the truck off and restart it.

Is it just the radio or just the CD player, or both? My wifes Toyota does this with the CD player, but it always corrects itself without having to turn anything off. We've never figured out what's wrong

I don't know if the CD does it. I have never had one in it.

Yeah, I get the occasional gibberish, most of the time it's in the middle of scrolling the name of the artist and track .
