Question Headlights

If you leave the vehicle with the headlights set to on, will they ever turn off automatically?

I know the interior lights are supposed to turn off in 30minutes.

Where is the light sensor for the automatic light setting?

What would compel you to leave your headlights on?

My Winstar has this system.I can leave any light on and
after 20 min.the battery guard turns off the power to
all accessories.Have not been able to find this in the
F 150 owners manual.

Seriously now, I do like the auto headlight control, but would also like to know where the sensor or sensor adjustment is so I can have them come on a little earlier.

I got used to not thinking about headlights with my old truck, it had an alarm system that handled the headlights for me. So it's nice to have it on the 04 f150. One particularly nice feature of that old arlarm was the lights would come on if I used the windshield wipers. When it rains during the day, this is the most likely time you'll leave your headlights on, so with it all automatic, that doesn't happen.

I'll have to check and see if the lights come on with the wipers on this truck.

Read in your manual. In you information center on the dash theres a way to adjust when the light shut off up to 3 min.
The manual tells you how to do so.

The head light sensor should be near the front grille. When I pull into my garage during the day my head lights come on when the front of the truck comes close to the wall. I'm sure it's the shadow of the truck thats telling the sensor it's dark. Of course the auto sensor shuts them off after turning the truck off.
