Color Keyed Door Handles

In theory, any body shop can paint them to match the truck color. But, isn't that plastic rough? It would have to be sanded smooth and then painted. Still possible, maybe, but plastic is soft and getting it sanded down to look right may be harder than one thinks. I would stop by your favorite body shop and ask them what can be done. Or, wait until 2005 or 2006 when Ford does it from the factroy - my prediction.
BTW, Caps off, please.

I agree with APT and think that it will be likely that the 2005 (or 2006...although I would hope '05) model will have the color coded handles and mirrors. The cynical side of me can't help but wonder if this 'option' was deliberately delayed for a future model so it can be introduced as one of the "improvements" of the 2005 model when it is released. It makes for an easy upgrade for the manufacturer while still enabling prospective buyers to ooh and aah and the nice step forward in aesthetics they will take with an upcoming model.
That said, I personally don't mind the black door handles...in fact, if there were an option for body colored handles I think I would choose the black plastic. As for the mirrors though, they would be much better looking if they matched the paint color of the truck. Just my opinion.
Cheers.

I, for one, do not mind the black door handles and mirrors at all. In fact, I think I prefer them and would most likely choose them over color matching for 2 reasons.... scratches and chips. The door handles would collect scratches from people's finger nails, etc. and the mirrors would collect stone chips from flying debris on the road. There's my $.02

At this years SEMA Show several F-150s showed up with both the doors and mirrors painted to match. I don't know what their process was, but it sure does look better with most paint choices.
This truck featured billet replacement handles instead of painted over ones. Heard Stillen (I think... not sure) was going to offer five billet handles for around $1,000.
Edit: The billet parts shown are not from Stillen (though I still think they did them for another truck project). Here is the scoop:
"All of the billet on the truck was from Boze Forged, who not only provided the 20-inch wheels, but also made a new set of door and tailgate handles, billet trim rings for the instrument cluster, and a billet antenna."

Well that is strange, mine came with the color keyed mirrors and door handles! Obviously I am not too good at clip art but I would prefer mine to be color keyed too.
