There is also a sticker stating correct tire pressure on the inside of the fuel door.

If you run 45psi in your tires they're going to feel like crap. Run 32-35 and they'll ride nice. The ratings on the sides of the tires are MAX. Run Max if you're hauling heavy loads. Not riding around town.

A "Bumpy" rough ride is definitely NOT a characteristic of this truck. It's actually quite the contrary...

But correc tire pressure is not ~just~ about the ride. It is about maintaining the tire tread correctly on the pavement.

To much pressure will cause the tire to wear on the center of the tread. To little pressure and the tire will ride on the outer edges of the tire.

The tire pressure is listed on the B pillar, on the fuel door, and in the drivers manual. Which one is correct?

This pressure issue really needs to be sorted out.

I had my 04 back twice because of the ride. The first time it was the tires needed to be balanced, the second time they said they made an adjustment by rebalancing the back tires again. The truck does ride ruff when you hit bumps. Also I noticed at speeds of 65-75 the steering wheel shimmies (sp) back & fourth. I have to say after 2000 miles I'm not as happy as I was when I first got the truck.

yep that 95% will get ya every time...40 it is

40psi recommended on the 18" LT275/65/18 GY's

The"B" pillar. It's based on the tires ordered when built. It's a fed requirement.

Remember to check the tire pressure when their cold. The sticker indicates "cold" pressure.

The tires themselve sometimes (dependant on the tire manufactuer) indicate max pressure- which you don't necessarily want.

Gotta agree with ya...trying to sort through all the potential problems is starting to take its toll on me...Between paint defects I've found on my truck to the steering wheel rub/noise, to the kind of hard to explain (not really bumpy but not really smooth) ride, to the engine hesitation when the engine is cold, to the rear end/tire vibration when the vehicle is cold, to poor quailty leather...I kind of wish I would've just leased this one too...oh well live and learn...I like the truck over all....but the joy of having it is wearing off...

Hmmm, If you read the Tundra Thread, F150's are the greatest thing that's come about since the invention of Beer and Prostitution

Yeah I expected more but It's still a nice truck. 2 months ago if some one said nice truck I was like oh thanks and talk to them about it & answer questions and let them look it over in & out. Now I'm just like thanks and I walk away.

So the entire truck sucks because you have a tire out of balance and you choose to run too much air pressure?

I never said anything about my air pressure. So don't put words in my mouth, the air pressure is fine. It was the first thing I checked. The balance was way out & on a new anything there is no excuse. The ride is not living up to what it was suposed to be. It seems to me that my 03 Lariat drove better then this truck. Could there be a problem with the front end or 1 of the tires? Maybe will see when it goes back for a third time

My bad..

It is a shame you're having problems with what Should be a straight forward thing. But you know how that goes. Maybe it is something more serious. Definitely keep us posted.

I can definitely see (Not You, but others) how if you run too much air in these 18 inch, 65 series tires, you could get a pretty rough ride.
