My New FX4
Hi JohnAndDar I was looking at the pics of your truck. I was planning on putting a spray on bed liner and retrax tonneau. looks nice on your truck. are you happy with the retrax. in one of your pics I thought I saw a gap at the front corner of the bed. maybe it is just my eyes or the camera angle. let me know how it fits if you could thanx. of coarse my truck is a flareside so the fit would be differant anyways.
jasonkola,
The Retrax fits great. There are no gaps anywhere. It seems to be sealed very well. The pictures are good, but they don't do it justice. It looks better than I expected. I've gotten lots of compliments about it.
I installed it on Saturday, and after tightening the clamps, the cover had the specified sie-to-side play that was in the instructions. Since, then, there is a little more play, so I think I'm going to add one or two of the spacers that came with it to get it back to the exact proper fit.
Only time will tell how it holds up, but I expect it will do well. No regrets here.
Good luck,
John

I live in Chester County. Where'd you get your windows tinted? I'm considering gett
Trek Glass Tinting located at 415 E. Baltimore Pike, Springfield, Pa.
610-543-4343. I had the windows on my 2000 F-150 Scab done by Trek. No complaints. I could not tell you the % but I had the rear windows done (very dark), front windows dark but you can still see in and the windshield brow which adds a nice touch.

The Tint To Match th rear glass is 15%

hay FX4_shadow thanx. the lift is just a lift made by daystar it is just a 2.5 inch front end lift. it costed me only $130 plus some tools for the instalation. I installed it myself but if I had it all to do over I would pay someone to do it. after words I needed a alignment. and front headlights realigned. I aligned the headlights myself that was easy. there could possibly me a warranty issue but it would only be parts that ford could prove were dammaged by the new lift if it ever dose cause any dammage which I doubt. the only thing i can see that it might couse to happen is the upper ball joint might wear out sooner than normal becaust the upper control arm is down at a sharper angle than stock. if that ever happens which I doubt I will probably have to pay for that myself.
