wiper blade arm fix

Has anyone experienced a problem with the wipers not going far enough to the left on the drivers side. They leave between 4 - 5 inches of untouched window. When the wipers were in the park position the drivers side was actually tilted at an angle to far towards the hood cowl. I thought it was a matter of adjustment. The dealer said there is no adjustment like the old spline system. I took it upon myself to correct the problem. I removed the arm (easy to do with the clip Ford uses to hold it on) I then proceeded to bend the arm (yes bend the arm) to correct the angle. The blades work just good as they did from the factory but now they go further to the left and have a better appearance and fit angle when in the park position. Because it is a trial and error method I only had to remove the blade arm twice. Easy fix. I trust myself more because it is my truck than I do the dealer tec guys.

Good luck if you want better visibility and a nicer looking fit in the park position.

they are not adjustable? I find that hard to believe. There has to be some form of adjustment for when the factory guys rush through the install and they need minor tweaks.

Maybe the dealer just didnt want to deal with it.

Hi J-150. You could be right about the dealer but when I removed the arm there was only one way for it to fit on. I to orginally thought like you. There is a slot in the arm and a mating part that the arm fits on. I would like to know how your drivers side wiper fits. Is the drivers blade at angle with the right side pointing down more towards the hood cowl? Does the arm move the blade far enough to the drivers edge of the window or like mine used to about 4 - 5 inches away from the edge? Please reply. By the way I looked at other 2004 's on the dealers lot and they seemed similar.

Thanks
