Just type "Airaid" on Google search...you'll get dozens of links in less time than it took to type your inquiry.

While many sell Airaid products, I only found the 2004 F150 Airaid at www.macromotive.com

Smile Ordered Yesterday

Put an order in on the past weekend and Macromotive called yesterday to tell me it will ship this Friday. I'll tell you all how it goes in and how well it works. The Airaid Dyno spec sheet was impressive. Now to hope its all true...Hoo Ha!

That seems like a lot of money for an cold air intake... unless it really does give the gains it is claiming... which I'm not sure that 20hp can truely come from a new air intake... definetly let us know HamRadio

Does not void the warranty. Even a supercharger won't void your warranty.

I've dyno'd my truck to baseline it and will dyno again after the airaid install which should be early next week. We'll see about the number - I doubt 20hp as they propose.

daneo,
try and see if they will let you do one pull hood down and one hood up, just to see the diff, they say it makes a diff.

Based on the Airaid site dyno #'s and comments noted in other posts vis-a-vis lack of power gain at the top end, I would be very careful with this product. As I stated before, they should be questioned as to how they have acheived the same output from the air meter by relocating it.

Say for a moment we assume their dyno numbers were generated on the same day, back-to-back runs with stock vs. airaid intake. We assume all care has been taken to eliminate all variables by running say 3 separate runs in each configuration at a minimum, as any respectable company would do, as Daneo2 did for his baseline.

If they have not done any work to ensure the air meter output is the same vs. stock for a given air flow, then the meter could easily be underestimating airflow. Spark advance goes up, fuel goes down. What do we have? Overadvanced spark, and lean condition. Pretty easy to deny warranty for that. OK so you take it off and go to the dealer with a knocking engine, and returned to stock condition. You get it done under warranty, what about the second time it happens?

As was stated by another in a post on dyno #'s and how they are generated....Caveat Emptor. This one scares me.

Well I would suggest you follow your fears and not put one on your vehicle. I have no such concerns - have CAIs on my other four vechicles and have no worries about the MAF not being accurately governed by the ECU.

I understand your hypothetical situation, but its a stretch for today's vehicle where mixture & spark are computer controlled.

Any chance you could post your baseline graph?

By no means is it a stretch. Spark and Fuel delivery are governed by engine speed and air flow, and where do we get airflow? The air meter. The only saving grace may be the learning accoplished from feedback from the O2's detecting a lean/rich shift.
