Question Options you can't live without!

I am getting ready to order or try to find a truck and am having a hard time deciding on a few things. I have the basics down I want a 2004 True Blue FX4 w/audiophile, but am having a hard time with the options.

Does anyone have interior pics of a FX4 with medium flint 40/20/40 seat?

Did anyone order or get the optional 35.7 gal fuel tank? If so what range are you getting between fill ups?

In everyones opinion what options are worth getting???

Thanks for the input

I have a 4x2 Lariat SCrew and among the MUST HAVE's, for me are: Audiophile, Power Sliding Rear Window, Tow Package, Reverse Sensing System.

Must have:
Trailer tow package
Reverse Sensing System
Power Sliding Rear Window
Audiophile
Power mirrors (i think that is standard on FX4 too, but not sure)
Captain's Chairs (I have bad lower back and I have had no pain since I got my truck)

Options I love but could live without:
35.7 Gallon Fuel Tank (the truck is a guzzler no matter how big thte tank)
Moonroof (personally I don't think it's worth the money, but it is nice)

Large fuel tank was a must for me.

No reason not to get it.

I am surprised the power sliding rear window is a must have.
I was thinking of not getting a sliding rear window at all. The only time I use my sliding rear window is if I am backing up a trailer, but I guess if it is power I would use it more?

The power rear slider was a definite for me. I was tired of crawling back to open it on my last truck. I have a Screw also, the window was handy because I had to haul 12 foot siding. I was able to put them thru the window and up to the dash.

Good point I almost forgot about those times I have used that extra space inside the cab for hauling wood trim and pvc.
Looks like the power rear slider is going on my list.
Thanks Jimmy

I think the power slider is a great feature. Also, I did not get it, but I think the reverse sensing system is a great feature to have. Had I ordered my truck instead of picking it off the lot, I would have ordered that.

I agree on power sliding window. In the screw it's waaaaay back there. One thing that was essential for me was the power pedals. I like to have my arms almost fully extended on the wheel. Problems is I'm only 5'8" so reaching the pedals would be tough. Power pedals are awesome if you set your seat up like me and are <6'.

If you have the F-150 book from the dealer, there is a small picture of the medium flint seats in there. Though, I got the black and I've seen them in other trucks (I don't have mine yet), and the black looks ten times better to me than the flint.

I originally wanted the power slider, but got the defroster instead. I hate scraping my windows in the winter. Plus it would be a challenge for me to reach the whole window with a scraper on this monster.

I did get the audiophile as well as the 18" wheels. They just look cooler. Also got two-tone. Looks better, but may take you a little longer to get.

I got FX4 SCrew, True Blue w/ Grey two-tone. All black cloth interior 40/20/40.

I was originally thinking of the defroster too, but someone pointed out that vertical glass like that rarely frosts up like other windows.

Have you thought about the bed extender? If you plan on hauling stuff with an open bed it's a good deal and even if you just want to throw something in the back it keeps stuff confined to a small space so it doesn't fly/roll around. The option package for mirrors gives you heated mirrors too, good choice for Michigan. The rest of your choices are spot on...

Happy shopping!!

I know. But I had to scrape my side windows a lot last year. They are on a slight angle, but basically vertical. Plus I figured, if I have a SCrew w/ a moonroof, how many more windows do I actually need? I already have 5 big windows that open all the way.
