Audiophile question

Just wondering if the Audiophile is worth the money or should I just order the 6 disc stereo. I love listening to my music some what loud when I'm on the highway or just stuck in traffic. Do you guys enjoy the Audiophile? or is it over rated?

Audiophile is well worth the money.... and much, much better sounding than the non-upgraded system. It has excellent clarity and sound, in all aspects... IMO.

I don't have my truck yet. But I did order it. It's only an additional $250 or so from the regular 6 in-dash.

I've heard the 6 disc and it sounds fine, but it was only the radio not a cd.

If you've got the money, go ahead and get it. I kept flip-flopping on different options. And everyone kept telling me to get what I want. Because if I don't get something I was pondering, I'll probably be disappointed when I get it. Don't want to kick myself later. And since I'm ordering, I'll probably have it a while. And really, what is another $250 when you're spending $30,000+?

Audiophile all the way. I thought the system in our Explorer was good until now. This system rocks.

Audiophile it is then! thanks for your help. Maybe I'll take a drive later this evening to a dealer and have a listen to it.

This is a great website!

The only real downside is the box under the rear seat. You lose a little bit of the purpose of the folding-up seat.

Oh, definitely. I listen to the radio more than I haul things in my back seat.

exactly. and the system is so worth it. it makes the truck that much more fun to drive. it also impresses the hell out of people sitting in the back seat as they are lifted off of the chair from the bass.

Many people have galleries. I have mine listed, but no pics yet. Will have those after I get the vehicle (3 Weeks).

I just returned from at trip to the truck lot to compare the stock Lariat system with the Audiophile upgrade, back to back. I brought a CD with some very clean sounding stuff on it and made the clueless saleman stand outside while I rocked out. First the stock system, which surprisingly, sounded pretty good. Then the Audiophile system. It was, hands down, the winner. I do feel that it is worth the $404 (invoice price) upgrade. Other than the subwoofer, you get an additional tweeter (or midrange speaker) in the small perforated area above the armrest. The rear speaker sounded the same to me on both systems. I'm a high end car audio snob from way back, but this system will do nicely until I can get up the nerve to tear apart my new truck to put in the good stuff. As a matter of fact, I placed my order this morning and am about to call back and have my dealer edit my order to include the Audiophile system, as Ford doesn't actually accept orders until tomorrow.

I say go with it!
