Thanks. That is with 2 coats of Z5 (swirl reducer) & only 1 coat of Z2 (show polish). Also the pics are 2 days after the treatment. I should of taken pics right away, but I was losing light & was tired. I did my cobra also, been busy the past few days.

Thanks again for the compliment.

Also added another album of one of our other fine Fords.

Ha... Clay Bar... I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do that. I know my wife sure thought I was. I washed my truck for the first time this past weekend and noticed that my white truck had black and brown specks all over it. They would not come up with just a washing. So, I got a clay bar and went over it. It really did make a difference. All the specks are gone and the finish is even smoother. Now I just have to wax it. Seriously looking into getting some Zaino wax. You pics remind me of my first black truck. Black sure looks good when clean. I thought I was getting away from some of the cleaning by buying a white truck. I guess not, for now anyway.

Yep, the clay process really takes everything off of the clearcoat. You really should wax it right away after claying, the clearcoat is unprotected afterwards, FYI.

I know what you mean on the specks on white. When I got my '01 Cobra, it had very tiny specks of rail dust all over it. I had the dealer take care of that. Then I waited to clay it until the spring.(the car was garaged for the winter). I still noticed a big difference before & after.

The only drawback is.............the wife wants me to do the taurus next.

'Looks great and I know what those first 6 months of new ownership will be like for you.......
I have a black 2001 L and use it as a daily driver. I would wash it every 3-4 days, clean the inside every weekend. Look at it every few hours and smile............get ready to spend some time keeping her looking clean........ atleast you have a garage that will help

Man, Your truck looks awesome! I too have a black 2004 and just received a full complement of Zaino products to try for the first time. After looking at your pics I feel much better about spending the extra on the Zaino and I can't wait to give it a try. Quick question though...Do the Zaino products (I too will be using clay, Z5 and then Z2) stain or leave a white residue in the plastic trim? I was told they didn't but just wanted to verify that. If they don't stain, then it should speed up things considerably since I usually have to mask all the trim before waxing and that takes me longer to do than the actual waxing! Any other tips about using Zaino would be appreciated as well since I plan to try it all out this weekend for the first time. Once again, the finish on your truck looks absolutely amazing!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment

Zaino leaves no white residue, that's one of the nice things about it. On plastic you have no problem, you can even use it on the headlight & taillight housings. Makes them look crystal clear. About the only thing you have to keep it off of is glass & rubber & fabric/cloth (for you 'vert owners). You can even apply it over decals.

Just look at the tips page on Zaino's website www.zainobros.com

Also use the Z6 in between coats, it helps get the last coat of polish off if you happened to miss any, & makes the next coat go on easier. I myself don't use Z6 between EVERY coat, maybe every other. Another tip would be to dampen the cotton applicator pad with water, wring it out good, then spritz it with the Z6 before you put polish on the pad. Helps with application too.

Use a little bit of polish on the pad. A little really goes a long way. I was putting 3-4 small drops on the pad at a time. It's better to use multiple thin coats instead of 1 or 2 thick coats like you would a wax.

Did you get the ZFX? If not, I recommend it. It speeds up the process a lot.

Enjoy & post pics when you are done.

whitesnake....

Yes, I did get the ZFX activator and after looking at your pics yesterday, I went ahead and ordered a bottle of Z5 as well to use for the first coat or two. Once again, your truck looks outstanding! Thanks for the advice and I will post my results when I get them.
