The count at this point is:

Yes - 27

No - 13

Remember, a lot of the No's are guys that have SuperCabs with 6.5ft beds that say they wouldn't really need the Crew Cab.

When you trim this down just to the SuperCrew, the number are even more in favor.

We're not talking one or the other here. The numbers seem to make it a no-brainer for Ford needs to get the move on this!

I have the SCAB with 6.5, but if they had the 6.5 bed on a SCrew...I probably would have purchased it. That is the ideal truck...but I like what I have too.

I went with the supercab only because of the 6.5 foot bed. I would have bought the supercrew otherwise. I was told by several people that 5.5 beds were harder to sell. The extra foot makes no difference to me and I don't use the back seats enough to make the supercab a problem.

So when I first whent looking I would have said yup that's what I want. Now I'm not sure I wouldn't just get a supercab because it works great.

Came across an interesting article in the Motor Trend archieves, and from my read, made me think the idea of the 6.5' bed SuperCrew F-150 may be more of a possibility than some here have suggested. The comments were about the new Dearborn Truck Plant. This is what Anne Stevens, vice president, North America Vehicle Operations had to say:

"As the new flagship of Ford's lean and flexible assembly plants, it will have the capability of interchanging three vehicle architectures and producing up to nine different models, if needed."

Three Vehicle Architectures: Regular Cab, SuperCab, SuperCrew x Three Bed Lengths: 5.5', 6.5', 8' = Nine Different Models

DTP actually will not be producing regular cab models or 8ft beds. The flexible system refers to completely different vehicles. Such as a ranger or sport ute.

I don't need a new rig yet, but if Ford doesn't cover their bases soon, I'll be driving a Sierra.
