Garage Door Woes . . .
As has been posted in other threads, this truck is WIDE. The mirrors are really nice compared to the '03 (better field of view) but they stick out far enough to make Dumbo point and laugh.
My garage door is 7'-10.5" clear inside width, and I have to fold in the mirrors to get the truck inside.
I have to experiment a bit (just picked up the truck an hour ago) but if I'm really careful I might be able to get away with only folding in the driver's side mirror to park it.
Looks like I'll be doing some serious mirror folding this winter, and in the spring I'll have to look at putting a wider garage door in. I think I could shoehorn an 8'-6" r.o. door into that spot and that just may do it.

I could not take it anymore, I had to go measure! 2004 with turn indicators in mirror measures around 100-101 inches wide. My '98 Silverado that be up 4 sale is 96 inches. Lucky for me my garage doors are 9 FT wide. Bad news is sometimes I have trouble backing in the first time as it stands now. I might try giving my '98 some of those pills to make "IT" grow 4 inches and practice!
Well I probably shouldn't say this in this neck of the woods, but this is one of the primary reasons I ordered a 04 Silverado a few weeks back: the size of the 04 F-150.
I could get power folding mirrors on the Silverado so I can get it in the garage width-wise by simply pressing a button.
And the F-150 is 8 inches longer than the Silverado - which means it would touch the sheet rock on the front bumper and the garage door on the back bumper!
If it weren't for that, I probably would have ordered a F-150. It sure is hard sitting here listening to you all take delivery of these wonderful new trucks - to be quite frank the Silverado looks like it was hit with an ugly stick in comparison.
Svelte.

Am I missing something here? The 03 Super Cab 4X2 is 225.5 inches long and 79.3 inches wide. An 03 Super Crew short bed (only one available in 03) is the same length and width as 03 Super Cab.
The o4 Super Crew is 224 inches long and 78.9 inches wide. The 04 may look bigger but the specs on Ford's Web Page indicates that they are fairly close to the 03. I did not look at all the different cabs and beds availabe, only those stated.
I do not know if the width includes the mirrors.

FWIW, the official Ford info lists the width with standard mirrors (Are the optional mirrors different in width?) as 96.8 inches. For more dimensional info, go here: http://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/...2004/f150.html
