Have my 2004 in driveway!!

Wednesday was the day! I have been reading all of your posts for the past several months and had my mind set on an 04. Finally found an XLT, dark metallic grey, 2x4, 3.73 limited slip, sliding rear glass, tow package, upgraded tires, and 36 gal. tank(nothing too fancy compared to what I have seen some of you talking about but I need it for my primary transportation and for hauling all my landscaping stuff for my side job) at local dealer. I had x-plan but haggled down to $600 below that. ALSO got $4000 for a 12 year old Honda Accord (wifes...would never buy a foreign car). Figure with that gas tank, some water and snacks, and a milk jug I can drive a LONG way without stopping!

Now the sad news.....I have been driving a 78 F-100 for the past 5 years. Bought from the original owner. IT has NEVER let me down. Sure it leaks oil and "floats" down the road but it always got me where I was going. Unfortunately I don't need two trucks. Tomorrow morning I will be cleaning it out for the last time. A friend is buying and I am taking to his house first thing in the morning. Will be a sad day for me but as I come home the pain of losing an old friend will be lessened as I see my new friend sitting in the drive!

Congrats on your new 04. I had intended on getting an 04 myself but ended up getting an 03 in June.

Keep everyone informed as to your experiences with it.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your old truck. I could use a dependable old beater.

ALL NEW!

The new design.....not the Heritage. I have always been a car/truck guy.....have been reading motor trend and other car/truck books since I was in elementary school. I personally think the 04 is the best looking truck on the road. It has a very aggressive look and a stance that says "I am here to work!"
