2004's on the truck

Check it out. http://warnerrobert.com/cgi-bin/ubbc...18;t=000389;p=

FX4 SuperCrew

Lariat on the bottom, XLT on top:

I like that you can now get foglights on a 4x2 XLT unlike the current version. It looks like the white one and one of the tan ones (on the bottom) are Lariats and the other tan ones are XLT's. Notice the different rims and the different grills. Lariats have the chrome trim around the grill.

That's awesome.... those are definately some of the EARLY production trucks because I thought I heard that they started making them about two weeks ago or something?

I can tell already I'm going to hate the dive down nose on these trucks. Look at the difference in the front wheel well spacing on the FX4 and the XLT and Lariat. Dammit, Ford. Release these trucks LEVEL!!!

I think that those trucks might be strapped down as if on a flat bed tow truck. Wouldn't this pull the front end down a bit?

The trucks are strapped down so these pics are not accurate. However, other pictures show similar stances with 2wd trucks looking front heavy.

Don't worry. When you load 2000 lbs of paving stones in the back, the nose won't dive down any more.

Ford cannot release a level truck because if they did, and you put 500 pounds in the back, your lights would be aiming in everyones eyes at night. In order to get the softer ride and to increase towing and hauling capacity, you have to have an increased length of travel in the suspension. That is just the way it works. If you want it lower, put a 2 inch drop shakle on the back and they will be level and look the way you want them. A 50 dollar part for a look you want. I load heavy things in my truck so I can't put the lowering shackle on, I need the suspension travel, my dad does not haul as much stuff and has the shackles on his truck and it looks good. Remember, Ford is not catering to just one market or one person, they have to try to appeal to the broadest band of people.

Enjoy,
Brian

Point taken. How do Chevrolet and Dodge get away with it? It doesn't seem as obvious on their trucks. Also, I've seen F-150's on dealer lots and they don't seem to be consistent in terms of the nose down tail up. For instance, look at this photo. That's out of control.
