I thought they were totally doing away with Flareside?

The black one in the first pic is a styleside.

 

Rock Pick...where have you been? Of course their not doing away with the Flare side and that IS a flare side in the first picture. Note the indented metal, the tell tell cargo hooks on the outside, the bubbled fender. Come on now.

 

Guess that shows how much I've been keeping up with the upcoming release of the 04's huh? Sorry... I just would've sworn that I had read something that said they were doing away with the flare...

That's why I roam around on the boards... lots of excellent information... I certainly don't know it all and the more I can absorb, the better off I'll be.

 

Truth be told the 04 flareside in my opinion is not a flareside at all, its simple a box with some plastic crap slapped on the side...

 

I'm not really into flaresides...but I think it'll be the best looking flareside out there...

How can you say that it's not a Flareside? It's got steps and it's got fender flares. I think that makes it a Flareside.

I am not sure if I like it as well as my Flareside but my next truck will be a SuperCrew so I guess I will not have to worry about it.

Hey, RP, maybe what you read was that they're doing away with the regular cab... A sad, sad time for trucks in my opinion... I wouldn't trade my regular cab, flareside for anything... and I too am not real fond of the new flare...

Thanks for the great pictures! I noticed that the Flareside is slowing loosing the side step. It's not like it was on 1999 Ext Flareside (4x4).

closer9, I don't think they are going to discontinue the regular cabs, they are just adding two more doors for better access for storage behind the seat.
