Geeeeeeez!!! Easy there Ford engineers!! We got more ponies only to have to push more weight with 'em. & not a little weight either. 500lbs??? That's a lot in ANY vehicle and a 1/2 ton truck ain't no exception!! Uggh!

Oh well, that's at least one reason to keep drivin' my'98!

 

Yep they now weigh as much as the rams and that 500 lbs just about sucks up 30 of the additional 40 horses

 

Yes, but the tow rating went up around 2000 pounds.

 

It does make one wonder why the engineers let 500 pounds get in there. That is a large chunk...

 

Weight is actualy an armor like asset. You want the others to turn to jelly, not you.

 

Supposedly its 500, like they said at the auto show. But, they also said that was going to be cut down a bit by production.

 

Weight is the enemy of vehicle dynamics.
