X Plan pricing

Does anyone know if there is someplace on the net where you can look up X plan pricing?

They do not have the 2004 F-150 on there yet, though.

I not at all familiar with X plan pricing. It has about four years since I bought a new F150 and have not even heard about X plan. Is this a plan where the purchaser has to "qualify" for this pricing , or is it just offered by certain dealers? I looked at this plan on Ford direct and the prices seem to be discounted 10% or more off of list. If someone is familiar with this plan , I would appreciate more info.

X-Plan is fairly new. It is a discount system, availible to friends and extended family members of Ford employees who are not eligible for the A/Z plan pricing. Typically, X-plan prices are close to invoice price that you can find on many internet sites, and you are still eligible for any market incentives (low interest rates and rebates). You just need to find a Ford employee who is willing to give you one of the require PINs and then talk to you dealer. Dealers are not obligated to offer X plan (or A/Z) pricing, such is the case on certain high profile vehicles, like when the 03 Cobra came out.

Thanks APT for the info. It looks like I would not qualify for X plan pricing. Now for another dumb question, what is A/Z pricing , I seen a post about it some where last week , but cannot find it back. If fomoco had kept their credit card rebate , as gm still has , I would at least be eligible for some discount with the accumilated rebates you get by using the credit card. A lot of my friends use their gm card, and cannot understand why I don't use it and switch to gm products.

Everyone is eligible for X-plan pricing if if he can find an employee to help him. If you are seriously interested, I bet there are some pople on here that would be willing to help you out.

A/Z plan is the same pricing. It is the employee price which typically hovers in the 4-5% under dealer invoice, but varies by model. It is availible to Ford employees and their immediate relatives (spouse, parents/in-laws, children, brothers/sisters). Grandparents/children, cousins, aunts/uncles, etc do not quilify. A Plan is used when the employee is still active, and Z is for retired/deceased family members.

Ford also allows some companies to participate in the X-Plan pricing (Ford's "Preferred Partner Program"). For example, I work for IBM and was able to buy my wife's Escape using the X-Plan.

Question Whats the deal with X-Plan?

I don't understand the attraction of X-Plan. I have ordered an 04 Lariat at $ 100 over the offical invoice price from a Washington DC area dealer. At least 4 other dealers would have met this price.

Don't most Credit Unions have access to the so called Buyers Clubs and don't most folks qualify for a Credit Union membership?
Or Sam's club or some such deal?

When I first contacted the dealer he was already willing to offer a discount off the MSRP (before I mentioned the CU).

And I have in writing that any Ford rebates, if any are offered, will come to me.

The buyers club deals go through the fleet sales manager if that makes a difference.

Granted prices are not out yet but I think my deal is pretty good under the circumstances (new model, etc) but then I only buy a car about every 10 years.

For a 2003 F-150 that is basically a 7 year old design, there may not be much benefit. But for a new hot model where getting invoice price is more rare, X-plan is a painless way of negotiating.

For your deal, was your $100 over invoice before any rebates or incentives? X-plan (and A-plan) prices still allow all market incentives to be applied.

$ 100 Deal

Yes it is $ 100 over Total Dealer Invoice minus any available rebates or incentives from Ford.

"Our policy is that any and all rebates that you qualify for at time of delivery of your vehicle are credited to you on the sale of the vehicle."

I bought my 2003 F-150 for $600 BELOW invoice using the X-Plan. On top of that, you do not pay the $200 floor plan/document fee that dealers like to charge. So that would be $900 less than you paid. On top of that there is absolutely no ****ering on the price. You give them the PIN and they look up the price on the computer. It is definitely a good deal if you can get it.

fx4x42002 , I agree with you. The X plan prices I have researched are below "dealer invoice" and thus a better deal than "invoice" plus . I too would like to use X plan , but unfortunately it is just for a select group of customers, so if I want to buy a fomoco product , I go to a dealer and beg for a good price. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Yea, I work for a railroad that transports a lot of the Fords and thus we qualify for the X-Plan.

That's the way I understand it, below invoice. Though if you want one off the lot and the dealer has installed items, they can get you for those costs if it something that can't be removed, i.e. tint...

The company I work for leases many, many FORDs so we get the "X" plan...
