I need to start somewhere? what is the list? 1 do this, 2 do that? if it isn't the check plugs, check wires like others have said, then what needs to get done?
the p0174 is the only code that is tripping as of now. it does have a miss.
you are right, I don't understand the situation, I need help to figure out what to do, and in what order.
Jim,
I'm not going to argue any point but will tell you, that your attitude is showing and is the biggest issue you have at the moment.
If your a bit upset, it's because your upset at yourself for not being able to handle the problem. It's not the engine's fault.
You have the code, I described why the code set, go with it. A least I gave you some real and accurate help to begin.
Test compression on the cylinder you think is the cause of the misfire and see what it is.
Then make the decision on what next to do.
You have to follow through with each symptom and clear them until all is done unless a problem gets into a lot of work and or expense, then that becomes a decision.
This is no different than a good shop would do.
Good luck to you.
In order to do a compression check, you have to pull the spark plugs. When you pull them, examine them, if there's a miss one of the plugs will not look like the others. It may be damaged, it may be fouled, it may be burning white instead of brown. This is called plug reading.
Not sure. Only got the passenger side pulled. Don't have any more time to mess with it today. Actually posting this, while supposed to be getting dressed for work, haha
Biting the bullet and having a mobile mechanic come and do the compression test tomorrow I don't feel like dealing with the left side fuel rail and all that goodness
