Really the block on all 4.6/5.4 2/3/4 valve are essentially the same. Given the 5.4 are a lil wider and higher because of the longer stroke.same bore. The timing cover and heads vary.

Your best bet is to read mustang forums and go from there. I wanted to do a 4v but would have a problem bolting my 4.6 2v fly-by-wire TB to the 4V 5.4 intake manifold. I ended up buying mustang adapter plates and bolting in the 2v 5.4 short block. It's the only 2v 5.4 fly by wire truck in existence.

Good luck on your build! Keep us posted!

keep the existing ECM, and the 4r70

swap the motor and engine harness, wire in the IMRC and have a dohc for whatever reason

or just boost the two valve for less hassle, and really enjoy it

If you able to assist email me more info mattdavison713@yahoo.com I could really use the assistance as I've done the same research on this and have only found that the coil packs are different polarities and have to be extended 4inches everything below the heads is the exact same and also would full length mustang headers fit once this is done
