Mr. Paxton, you sound like maybe the person that has had the most experience with my question. I bought a 1997 Ford F-150 4.6L Triton 176,000 miles to use the transmission for my moms 2002 Ford F150 5.4L Triton 141,000 miles. I heard both have the same bellhousing. Am i going to be able to put the 4.6 transmission into the 5.4 motor? With some adjustments? I would greatly apricate whatever wisdom you can give me, trying to help revive my moms truck as she needs one being in northern Minnesota.

 

Unfortunately no when it comes to the 5.4 your stuck with only using 5.4 headers. The easiest way to tell if they are for a 5.4l the bolt holes are located in the center and top and bottom of the port. Others are either in straight line across or they are on a slight offset
