No, if you review the whole thread you will see that this is impossible. The TBC connector is near the OBD2 socket, not the hood handle, and definitely has more than 2 pins.

On the 97-98 model year F-150 this was the factory location for the Trailer Brake connector. I bought my Truck new in 98 and the cable that came with the truck to connect to this has more than two wires. This is really just a link to send adjustable power to the 7 pin connector by the Reese hitch. I can't force you to believe this but hopefully other members will since that IS WHAT THIS connector is for! Remember you need the factory interface harness that was placed in a bag in the glove box to be able to use this connector.

OK, I see now. This is the old OBD I connector that ford never used. The Trailer Brake is under the dash by the ODBC II connector under the right side of the steering wheel.

I think it's a lot more likely to be the DSS data link connector. The wire colors even match, look back at post #19. Also look at post #21, C268, it's circled in red.

hi, I'm new here.
I have a 2003 F150 XLT flareside
VIN 2FTRF07202CA65357

I have a mystery gray unplugged connector in my truck.

I bought this truck a few months ago and I'm trying make it work as it should.
It has "Service Engine Soon" light turn on and I found "the cable"...
Is something disconnected?

An scanner reveals error 1401
"DPFE sensor or EGR pressure feeback sensor
part: 2F1E-9J460-AB"

those issues have nothing to do with the power pedal plug…

That's the plug for an aftermarket trailer brake controller.

I bought my 98 brand new and I have this connector under the dash near the hood open switch. Just trying to clarify for people who are looking for this information.

ALL trucks had the plug
