I guess I have the V10 bug

OK, this has nothing to do with Fords but I'm so excited, I had to share. I finally bought my dream car. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but it's a 1996 Viper RT/10 with the updated 450 horse GTS engine. It's not that much faster than my turbo Lexus, but GAWD so sexy!
It looks just like the one below except the owner plastidipped the wheels blue - which I hate.

Oh... there will be pics! I'm not telling any of my friends or family outside my house. I just plan to show up in it. My wife is so cool, she made me buy it.

No burnout vids - tires are $500 each.

Nope. No ABS until 2001. I don't even have roll up windows or outside door handles. It has a detachable hard top as well as the original soft top, and drop in lexan type windows. The ABS on my truck has been broken since I got it and my first car was a 68 Cutlass with a built 455. Lots of power and 4 wheel drums. I keep a long following distance.

I had originally planned on getting a 2001, but none of them fit my budget because they are almost all under 20k and 30k miles. People don't drive these cars! I will drive it and drag race it. This 96 was driven, but well cared for - never seen rain or snow. Besides, I would feel too guilty turning a low mileage Viper into a daily driver - especially for how much they cost. Daily for me is a rare thing though as I work from home.

Good luck! an excellent choice of collector car. Should do nothing but gain in value unless it gets trashed..

Well I didn't buy it as an investment, but I do expect it should hold its value if I ever decide to sell it.

Here is the actual car which I won't get for two LONG weeks. That blue steering wheel, shifter and e-brake are factory - but I think I need to change them to black.

I'd probably leave the factory pieces, but I'd but the wheels back to stock. Looks great though!

Yeah when it comes to changing things you should consider how it affects the value. I would media blast the wheels and have them re-coated the stock color.

I was wrestling with that option or polished. Some Vipers have polished wheels, but not the 96 RT/10. I'm not terribly concerned with affecting resale value. This car will probably kill me

Polished could easily be coated at some point. Hard to maintain polished I can tell you that. My truck has polished. But that aint a truck and you live in Arizona..

If they're Plastidip'd like he said they are, it peels right off. I'd hope that's what it is.
