Rent the Timesert kit from Galaxy and do it now. LOT easier now than later.

 

Will the plug back out and then be ejected, or will the threads spontaneously fail? I didn't think anything of it because the plug took 28 lb/ft nicely.

I had no idea I could rent a Timesert from Galaxy.

Also, the cylinder walls had a light shiny cross hatch pattern, but I could barely see it with a flashlight. I wiped them with acetone before I oiled them, and I really couldn't see any other patterns in the metal.
