I don't know what the part is called. I know when the pulley start turning and stop. that's what I hear...does that make sence?

I think your problem does not lie under the hood based on your symptoms. Check for vacuum leaks as the blend door motors are vacuum actuated.

The 97's system is quite different from that on a 02. The procedures for a 97 won't be very useful.

Compressor operation is normal in all modes except OFF, VENT, and FLOOR. Some clutches are louder than others, especially those with excessive gap.

Touching the discharge line off the compressor may give you a nasty surprise. Doing so may be quite unpleasant. If you want to feel refrigerant lines, check them right as they enter the evaporator.

The temperature blend door is electrically operated, not by vacuum. All the doors that select inlet and outlets are vacuum controlled.

Compressor short-cycling is typically an indication of incorrect refrigerant charge, whether under or over-charged. It may also indicate problems in the high pressure section of the system, so a set of gauges is needed to properly assess system operation.

Do as I said in my first post in this thread, otherwise you're just wasting everyone's time.

Got it, Thanks... won't be working on it for a week.
I'll post with my findings soon
