Larger fuel tank

Hi Guys, I have a 1999 F-150 4.2 Super cab f150. 2WD

My current gas tank is a 94.5 L tank. Its pretty rusty and probably time for replacement. I cannot seem to find a larger replacement tank. I would like the 115L tank (30.5 gallons) But only for the 8 foot bed. Does anyone know if I could fit it in? Or what would I have to remove or are there any aftermarket larger tanks?

Sorry to be so brief. If you need any other info just ask!

Phil

I believe you need the longer frame. The tank is longitudinal (front to back) so it needs the extra "leg room"

What about a 35 gal from an 04+ ex cab short bed? Just an idea.

New body tanks are much different design.

I'd bet the 8' tank would fit if your truck is 2wd

I just looked this up the 24.5 gallon tank is 15x15x49, the 30.5 gallon tank is 15x15x66. I went out to my truck and measured off the front of the tank 17" and there is just enough room, you may have to relocate the wire harness for the 4wd actuator on the back of the transfercase (if you have 4wd of course). If I get a hair up my *** I my order one to see if it will fit, but that wont be for a couple of months.

Awesome! That is good to hear. I may fabricate my own straps if they don't line up but that shouldn't be difficult. My truck is 2wd by the way. Thanks guys! Will let you know when it gets put in how it went.
