Im thinking Im going to take a ton of pictures just incase and pull the motor out of the 2wd with a friends help. I have no idea where to even start. I might send the motor with the 4x4 and have a shop do the install. I will see how bad it is to remove the motor from the 2wd first. Im guessing to remove the body mounts of the cab and lift it a few inches to start. Can anyone tell me what lines are a must to remove and what isnt? Remove the fan, rad, shroud to start right. tranny cooler lines? power steering lines?

Pretty sure PI heads for trucks werent until 2001 but mustangs in 99. Not 100% on this but that is what I gathered.
The sensors are at the front of the intake. In this area -

That's not a pick of yours, just to give you an idea.

Yea, if they're both metal, just use your existing and it's all plug and play. You need to remove the intake and connect the chains from the engine hoist in the block cavity.

Why lift the body ?

Your on the phone That wasn't a link, it was just a heading.

I'll see If I can reverse it. I had partial done.

EDIT: Finished the install.

BTW, don't disconnect AC or PS. Just set them aside. Tie them back and out of the way w/bungies.

Yea, if you need the removal procedure I have that as well. But it's basically the same in reverse.

Remember what I said about the intake gaskets. You'll need new ones. Get your specific gaskets at Ford. They have the revised version. Felpro or other don't sell those. It's critical to button down the intake in stages and prep the heads and intake by cleaning w/lacquer thinner. It's a good idea to use a little sand paper on both surfaces as well. No oil, not even a finger print on those surfaces. Spotless as you can get them. Just use the gasket, nothing else.

If you PM your email address, I can send procedures. We can try that, sometimes they work with yahoo or gmail, sometimes they don't. If you have outlook, you'll get everything.

Thanks for the procedure brew. Im goin to pm you my email address for the removal. Right now Im trying to really look into this. Im going to start draining fluids and unplug the wiring this week. I have a buddy coming over on saturday to help pull it. I hear yah on the revised gasket but is the motor itself that has the flaw or the intake? If its the intake what if I use the 97 intake. I must be crazy but when I went out there yesterday to look at the intakes they look identical and yes i have the plastic covers off :s.

Yea, that's what everyone was trying to tell yuh. Use the 97 intake.

I sent you the info in a file I made thru office. But I saved it as a web page, so it might open a default browser window to display. Let it do that, then let me know if it worked, if you get all the diagrams. I might have to send it another way. Do you have office?

It works great here, but opens up Explorer. It might need explorer to work on your end as well. Looks great here tho, good clear diagrams.

Hoping this works, so I can send this way from now on.

so When I order the gasket, what am I ordering? An intake gasket for a 97 4.6 or a 2000 4.6? One is revised right? Or are they both exactly the same?

Yes Brew it worked perfect, thanks. I emailed you back and told you it worked but I could have just dont it here.
