ok so i have a 1997 f150 and i want to put aftermarket headlights on my truck, but apparently, the 97 and 98 are diffrent from the 99-03s, so i have to change out the front end. how did u do the mod? i dont want to change the whole front end is it possible to just change the header panel and it will be all good?? or if i change the header panel i need to change the grill surround and bumper? thanks,,

 

As long as your truck was built after 07/96 the headlights are the same from 97-04. If your truck was built before 07/96 there's only one or two direct fit aftermarket lights available, I believe. Or, you can swap the header panel to the newer style.

 

Yeah you need to change header panels. The bumper and grille surround can stay the same.

 

You shouldn't have to change/mod anything.
Any 97-03 lights should swap right in.
I put '00 (I believe they're '00) Lightning headlights in my 98.
Took me all of 10 minutes to change out both lights.

 

ya was your truck i saw i was like wth how u got those lights! anyway, mine is the one with the 2 tabs behind each headlight.i dont want to order and waste money!

 

my lights come out 1 pc not 2 pcs.,

 

Mine has the same 2 tabs on the headlight that you pull up on to release the light.
The side markers/turns have 1 screw each.

You mean your headlight and side marker/turns are one unit?

yeah mine are the one pc ones, i just bbuffed them with plastic x,,could be better wit aftermarket headligts.
