Should I tackle this project? Used truck purchase
Hey guys,
It's been a while since I posted up on here. Sold my two flaresides last winter and now have another truck in mind to buy for cheap, and fix it up. Its meant to be a truck just for hauling stuff, camping and for projects around the house.
99 XLT, 5.4L, 348k (kms), fully loaded, some minor dings, no rust. Was a farm truck and hauled a small camper by the previous owner.
Mechanical issues I know of are a few blown spark plugs and possible head gasket issue, but that last one is unconfirmed. Brakes have been re-done and new tires in the past year.
For a grand.....worth it? I figure for the price, it would be worth it as a build project.

Just the fact that it's not rusty makes it well worth it. Book value on that truck down here is 5 grand. You would have a great basis for a project.
Pull the heads, replace the gaskets, and Timesert the plug holes. This would probably be all you need to make it reliable for your use.
