Auto Transmission Shift Control Cable

So my gear indicator on my dash is offset again. Apparently the shop said the Transmission Shift Control Cable is broken and needs to be replaced. I don't think I want to pay for this. Has anyone done this work? Can you tell me anything about it?

I asked if the PRNDL indicator can be readjusted using the wheel underneath the steering column to make the alignment but they said no. Thanks for any advice. The shop wanted to charge me $210.00

If you had adjusted it before, check under there and make sure that the bracket for it hasn't broke. This is what happened to mine.

I'll have to check but I think that's why they said it has to be replaced because it's broken.
