E-fans and underdrive pulleys?
E-fans and underdrive pulleys?
Hi I have a 2000 ford f-150 xlt triton. And the mods I already have are 4.10 gear ratio, cai, cts programmer, obx long tube headers, and cat back split rear exhaust from pacesetter. I was wondering if the e-fans and underdrive pulleys would be a good addition? If I get good feed back I'm going to order them today. And thanks everyone in advance!

Pullies - opinions vary - some folks notice a nice bump in response, others do not. For yer 2000, yer likely going to need to bump up yer idle with the programmer.
Two-pulley set, like this: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...talogno=528774
Sorry - not a 'fan' of the overrated & overpriced FAL kits. Just me, so just ignore it

I mean I did a little research but I'm more than open to the ideas of others that would help me out more in the long run. I just really want a good realible electric fan. I'm only 17 so I don't know much about Eletric and wireing. I live and work on our farm so I'm always towing heavy loads or running around the farm all day. And things do get hot. So I was looking for a way to get more air flow and to have quicker cool down and warm up times. And I've heard that these Eletric fans are the way to go. I get pursuaded very easily so I'm betting I really jumped the gun. Sorry

Take yer time and read completely through the links provided above.
It's not like yer not already getting reliable cooling with the stock mech fan.
In that vein, given what you use the truck for, reconsider those pullies - they can potentially reduce cooling, not enhance it.
Yer best course of action may be to just leave well enough alone - and save the coin for other things.

This. The stock fan can pull up to 7,500cfms. Electric fans only pull up to 5,000cfms depending on the motor/brand. If you are towing a lot and deal with heat, I would stick with the stock fan. Efans only free up a couple of ponies, not something you will notice in a 5.4L.
So would upgraded cams rocker rollers and springs pretty much the whole assembly help me out any? By the sounds of it I'm deffintally ditching Efans and underive pullys. Thanks for your input again guys. Helps out a lot.
Well by the time mid July comes around I'd like to use it in the local truck pulls.. But at the same time I need it to still be able to be used around the farm. But i really love upgrading the truck and seeing ways that I can squeez just more power out of this truck. Oh by the way if it makes a diffrence I have a car that I can drive for just normal day to day running around

If the answer is YES - go for it. If NO, leave it alone. It's that simple.
