I'm New...and closing in on 100k

Hello?!?

I decided to purchase the 'snake oil'~Royal Purple~ based off of my mileage dwindling to 245 a tank after a fresh tune up...I was sold with all the research I did online HERE!

Let me know if you have had any/bad issues but please only post/read on if you have used the product, or need entertained....or maybe you are researching as well....

current set up:

2003 XLT sport 4x4
4.6, 3.55, 4speed/OD
MAF W/ Gotts mod cleaned
TB cleaned
Fresh Motorcraft plugs
K&N recharged <10k
Fresh pads/rotors/bled 1 caliper toasted/replaced <12k
Fresh fuel filter
Normal use STP oil filters/fuel injector cleaner
OD shifting too often(strange but feel resolved with power back..still researching)
87 OCT setup
minimal towing (5k boat once/twice a year)
minimal hauling (2200lb mulch every year 2-5 trips)

Current monitored items=
RPM 200 lower than normal all gears/speeds
OD seems to function normal
Power increase
Idle 200 lower than normal

IF you have used Royal Purple and had a problem with it in an F150 please post.

THX!

Next is the trans.....then the pumkin....Right now I am pretty sold.

I've never heard anything bad about the Purp but I highly doubt it will cure bad mileage problem.

If you are not burning oil why would you change from what you are using? The oil will have very little if any affect on fuel consumption.

STP oil filters are made by Fram - BAD idea. STP gas additive is worthless. If you use a K&N air filter, clean your MAF frequently.

Dough?!?

"If you are not burning oil why would you change from what you are using?"

she is paid off...I don't want a new payment.....But I would like to revive the beast....with more horses for my cowboy.

the mileage is a problem. The worst I have ever seen in her.....

Had to start some were, had to start how....what better place than here, what better time than now...

So far what I have read about RP is they have a corporate problem like the rest of the companies in the states....... And their marketing group is a bunch of douches..... I know plenty of companies that have douchie marketing but excellent products... hell I worked for a couple...lol

THX, noted.

I have seen mileage benefits from the stp additive, minimal but seen... use the white bottle every 5th tank. maybe they have crappy gas here.... but to get the good mist out of the injectors is critical so I have been using it in every engine I've had with injectors... ranger, chevy 3600, f150, honda sol, zx2.

I chatted with MGD, and I will be going back to 820s....

In the mean time I would like this thread to stick to the topic of....

If you USED ROYAL PURPLE post if you HAD problems.

As I respect your opinions if you send them to my box, leave this thread to just historical problems with RP in a 4.6 motor/tranny/diff/transfer...

Again, I thank you and if you feel (and I welcome your opinions) to post something you see suspect please post it to PM.... or you can 'i told you so" to my next post when I have a problem...right now I am just looking for history...... to learn from someone else's mistake to save me $ for poopy diapers.....

thanks again

Then you are going to get mad at me if I suggest you use Techron instead of STP and do it here instead of in a PM?

I've never used RP, but my nephew put it in a 4.0 pushrod Explorer and it started tapping.......

I don't remember what exact year it was, but it was the first generation Cologne 4.0 pushrod motor, not the OHC.
