For gears since your 4x4 and you'll need a shop to do them somewhere in the 1300+ range.

 

A friend of mine who is taking auto tech at a vocational school said he could do it. idk if that is possible my ring and pinion is going out right now its making a slight whinning noise so im thinking if i have to do that why not beef it up ya know

 

I'm not sure I'd trust your friend, not saying he's gonna mess it up or he's bad at what he does but this is one of those things where if you mess up the install even just the littlest bit you just wasted all the money you spent on the parts because they'll be toast in no time. I'd trust someone who's done it a lot of times, unless your friend is planning on having the teacher look over his shoulder the whole time to make sure it all goes smooth.

 

yeah i understand so total ill have about 1300 + in it? im running 33s right now but plan to have 35 by summer a long with a 6in susp lift or a 3 in body not sure yet but 4.56 is what i saw on your right up if im not mistakin?

 

If you are worried about that just pay a professional.

 

Yup I'd recommend 4.56's if your planning to go to 35's. It'll be a good all around gear with those size tires. And 1300 is on the good end of it, I'd call around and get some quotes so you can get a better idea, the prices are different in different areas.

 

@camopaint I never said i was worried. Just getting ideas on my options. And that's good just any local shop or a 4x4 shop

 

Either or, just call around and see who can do it for the best price. Generally 4x4 shops will cut you a deal if you buy the parts from them and have them install them too. But sometimes smaller local shops will want the business bad enough where they'll cut you an even better deal.

 

One thing to seriously look at is regearing. With 35s probably 4.56.

 

Sorry no link for the pi swap. I pieced it together 340 for a set of pi heads with a fresh valve job from craigslist and I got an intake from patman for 75. I already had to do all the gaskets and bolts since I am rebuilding it anyway. But ford sells a top end kit for around 100-150 iirc!

 

ok ill look on Craigslist for some heads and stuff. that's an awesome deal i have not been able to find anything remotely close to that! im thinking that would be really hard for me to i know how to a few things but timing one of these isnt easy ive heard but im seriously considering the 4.56 gears it will be a nice upgrade! with that electric fans, a programmer, headers and true duals it should really be waken! lets hope my plan comes together nicley! as soon as the federal taxes come back it will start to be transformed im thinking of stock piling it and then at the end of summer just go ***** out for a week and then everybody be like what the heck!
