thats over 1200 in parts!

idk what anyone said about a knock sensor or thermostat, they wont do jack for performance.

i think efans and a tuner would get you the best performance. exhaust doesnt do anything but sound good!!

it was a friend of mine saying that it adjust and does not let it open all the way up for fear of blowing up and that if i were to disconect it and put a thermostat of a lower heat range it would let it open up? idk i thought it was bs when he told me. but i know but i love a nice deep sound. and the electric fan was 400 on summit. the tuner was 400 and headers 200 i think my exhaust will be in the 4-500 range i hope! this summer(gf allowing or not) i wanna have a bad *** truck that is picture worthy and street worthy!

im pretty sure our motors dont even use a knock sensor, atleast the lightnings dont anyway. thermostats are to keep your motor in the optimum heat range for best performance, dont worry about them unless you have a custom tune for it.

just go to a custom setup for efans, look at the write up that have been made. and go to t a exhaust shop so they can make you what you want.

Ok I'm thinkin true duals no cats or will that hurt my engine? With a set of super 44 flow master exhaust! Would a Taurus e fan work with a toggle switch to keep it running at all times or will that draw to much power?

It won't hurt your engine but you will get alot of drone with that blowmaster muffler.

The Taurus fans will work just fine. But I would keep it on a controller so you aren't straining the electrical system all the time.

Why not do a pi head swap, catback, high flow cats, gotts mod, efans and some 4.10 gears. That would really wake your truck up!

The best thing to do to a truck when you put bigger tires or bigger aftermarket rims for you street guys is to do a gear swap. That will give you back that fast set you back in the seat feel again. On my first 2002 I put a lift and 35's on her and put 4:56 gears and my truck would beat a stock 150 with stock wheels and tires. I did also have a tuner, headers, high flow cats, CAI, and true duals. I plan running the same set up on my current "new to me" 2002 and with the addition of an L swap. I will be running what str8t is plus some extras.

I am no super mechanic I've tinkered around but a head swap is out of my range i could take mine off and put new ones on but i doubt i could time it. but as far as changing gear ratios how hard is that? i would have to change both of them since mine id 4wd right? im looking at an edge evo cts programmer for my truck. headers and cat bak exhaust will come on the summer. what kind of muffler, cats do you all prefer?

yes, you would need to change both axle gears. i wouldnt do the swap yourself unless you are mechanically inclined and know what you are doing.

as for mufflers, i think they are just added weight

Timing is really not a big deal as long as you have the colored links on the timing chain. As far as re-gearing goes I would let a shop do it.

yes these trucks have knock sensors with the exception of the lightning. The knock sensor is used to pull timing when it hears knock (aka detonation). There is power there, most tuners will adjust the sensitivity of it while doing a custom tune. I do not know how sensitive it is in these trucks however. There is also power to be had in the temperature of the engine (via t stat). The cooler the motor runs the more power that can be made, but at the expense of fuel mileage. You can also add more ignition timing with a cooler thermostat with out running the risk of detonation.

ehh nitrous lol not really going for that even though did see several nice kits! but a pi head swap for 400 please send me the link lol ive looked up just regular ol heads for my truck they are about 300 each and re just plain heads. what kinda problems are encountered when doing a pi head swap. i know the intakes and things are completly different. im thinking for the heads a new intake and everything thats gottta be a lot of money. as far as the gears go about what is the cost to redo gears?
