Look way back in this thread, you'll see.

That's one of 5 posts you made into this thread and the only one where you offered help. I don't think any of their transmission controllers would have done any good for the PATS or speedo issues - I could be wrong too. In addition, that's $400. My solution was $40. I didn't ignore you, I looked into alternate solutions.

Also, Travis may or may not have used them, but if you'll look back over the thread, you'll see that it's me who told him how to get the speedo to work using the SD ABS module.

I know you are a highly respected contributor to this forum and I believe you have helped me out in my early days of this truck, so please don't take this as an insult.

Okay, so you did look at Travis's thread ? I didn't know that.

You definitely deserve credit for configuring two PCM's in the same ride. I've never heard of that. It can't be easy. I logged back in to say that and edit that post above, but you got here first

I knew you would not take it to kindly but I stand by what I posted.
There are others less' in'dowed than you who might think about it and want to try.
There have been many who delved into swaps only to give up and let it set only to sell parts or left for junk..
So the reply was not only for you but others as hopefully a benifit.
Your position as stated is even a benfit to other to read.
Still good luck. I'm not here to argue with you.

That's a good point. Perhaps I should edit the first post to say something along the lines of "Easy to get it to go - PITA to get it right!"

This week's local trade paper has an F250 XL 4x4 with the V10, for sale.
North east Pa., 570 area code.
Paper's name is TREASUE HUNT.
May be gone by now.

It seems the V-10 swap is a lot easier when it has a manual trans. There is another fellow riding the V-10 with a puny M5OD-R2 behind it and no (reported) problems

I would have spent the extra $400 to get that trans right. But I hate headaches.

I plan on eventually doing this but swapping my m50d-r2 with a zf5 or zf6 depending on which one I can find for a gas engine

The zf6. There's a write up in here about the conversion.

Doing some research yielded a non-pats f250 computer for me. As for the speck, there's two ways around this problem. The way ishootstuff went or a complete rewire of the vss

Please expand on the "complete rewire of the vss". Did you do it? Can you give some details? My research determined the VSS can't be directly wired to the PCM. The VSS provides a pulse signal from two wires and the PCM is only looking for a signal from one wire, so it needs some sort of translation medium. The F150 uses GEM, the F250 uses the ABS module as this translation medium.
