Low Beam HL, Brake Lights, Odometer, etc not working

1997 ford f-150, 4.6 L, Automatic

Running into an issue with multiple components not working:

Odometer
Speedometer
Low Beam HL
Brake Lights
Fog Lights
Turn Signals
Hazard
Truck sometimes has issues starting or stumbles when running if I hit a bump, hit the steering wheel or even slam a door.

Fuses 16, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 have no power to either side (fuse box inside the cab, test light used to check). Fuses are good as near as I can tell. All of the fuses in the power distribution box under the hood are good. I recently replaced the GEM in this vehicle when this problem occured - I pulled it back out an double checked every connection and everything looked ok. I also replaced the MFS/turn signal thing.

Could the blue flasher relay under the dash be causing an issue? Any other thoughts/ideas of things to look at?

Thanks for the help in advance

Zack

Post in the electrical section for a better chance of diagnosis.

Brake Switch

Hi MadTurtle -

It might be your brake sensor (if none of your brake lights work). It's a 13 dollar part at Ford. This is a small black sensor about the size of a zippo on the brake pedal lever. Pull out the cotter pin and move everything off the post. Unplug the sensor and replace it with a new one.

I am not sure what fuse would be the one controlling the brake lights, but I would check the owners manual and take a look at those with a test light too.

I know the brake sensors can be an issue and I need to check mine tomorrow for good measure.

Good luck
