Have you checked the water level in the rad? Water has to be right up. Thermostat would make it overheat rather than stay cold. Is it frozen? Is there any antifreeze in it? Many questions.

A thermostat that's stuck OPEN will make it stay cold. What does your temperature gauge read - is it in the middle where it normally should be? If so, your thermostat is working well enough to give you some heat.

Also check the heater blend door actuator to make sure it's switching from hot to cold. I've replaced a few.
