I agree that having a superduty tailgate is cool.......only if you have the superduty letters filled and painted over. Using HD, Lightning or superduty parts is fine for some parts, but anything with badge swapping is generally frowned upon by many people. You may like it, and get positive comments, but on the flipside, people are laughing at you too. Modifying is personal preference, so if it makes you happy, then by all means do it.....who cares what anbody else thinks.

If you don't try to pass off as an original, then I see no issue. Why would someone laugh at someones ride? I've driven $50 junk as that's all I could afford.
What about clone musclecars that people are up front honest that it's a clone. People that laugh at these are usually the ones with the issue. First thing I'd ask is what do you drive? You may have a brand new car, nice house, or nice spouse, etc, but there will always be the ones who insult it because it isn't their brand, their style, their type or they can't afford it. As long as you're happy with your choices that's all that matters. So laugh away if it makes you feel better. I'm still happy.

tailgate swap looks great! I would like to do it on mine, but being a stepside it can't happen.

You put that you're running 37" tires with only having a 3" body lift.... how much trimming did you have to do to make those tires clear?

Very slight trimming on the truck with the 37s it will rub when fully turned but i dont need to turn on a dime so im not worried. Thanks for all the compliments. I got the gate bumper and lights free i feel your pain though i cringed when pricing it out. A good friend hooked me up with a take off bed they're shop put a flatbed on. Trucks on hold atm my harley needs some stuff.

I love the SD tailgates on the trucks! Last thing i was thinking was that you were trying to pass off as a 1 Ton. Id love the step on the back of my truck, its a pain in the *** to get in the bed when your carrying something!

I'm not laughing, and I didn't mean to imply that. I was only pointing out the flipside.......some will love it, like it, hate it or laugh at it. Like I said, it's personal preference, so do what makes you happy.....that's all that matters.

for the record.... I dig your truck.

Looks great in the flat black. How long did it take you to complete the paint job?

I friggen love this truck. Purely awesome dude. i have the same exact thing and doing the same things. I havent gotten to the body yet but I am eventually going to do the rear end swap. Instead i started with a v10 and suspension work to make it an F250 same rear end and motor as a superduty right? figure Ill be justified in having the super duty badge on the tailgate for all those "haters"
