I prefer the look of the truck without them but I recently put one on mine because the paint on the hood is bubbling and chipping so i put that on to hide it until I get around to re doing the hood

I wish I had put one on my truck when I bought it. Now my hood has chips on the very front from rocks and all. Guess my paint all around has nicks and chips though but not nearly as bad as the front of the hood.

There's that clear protectant film you can put over the front of the hood to protect it

If you were closer I have my stock hood still. In mint condition.

My '01 Flareside is very similar. It is black with the silver bottom. It came with the shield. In FL it comes in handy when the flies and love bugs are swarming. I am glad you posted the photo of your truck. I am anxious to see what my truck will look like lifted. Now I can't wait to put it together. As soon as I do I will post pix. Thanks.

Thanks for all the thumbs up, guys. I appreciate it. And I appreciate your encouragement to take it off. I like the new look, too. Now I just need to find a PIAA valance. Anyone?

The tow hooks are a custom item, a friend of mine fabbed up for me, using some parts from a mine we were working at, some time ago. I'm sure a good welder could build you some similar. I have pics in my album of their construction, as I am asked about them quite often. But that's OK, I love the attention
