Since I have time off, I've been try to get my truck in shape.
I decided to drain, replace gasket + filter and fill my 01 F150 4.6 auto 4R70w transmission. When I went to Napa I specifically asked for Mercon Five because I read pages of information here before I proceeded. I have replaced many trans filter and a half dozen transmissions (a filter each time). She entered my vehicle information for the filter and gasket (mine was leaking a tad, I don't think it's the drain stick). She came back with a case of fluid, the filter with gasket. I shopped around and bough a few things and Lucas Transmission stabilizer.
I drained the TC and pan. Replaced filter + gasket and refilled. I didn't realize I was using the wrong fluid till I was done and about to throw out the trash. I had already filled it with 12 quarts of old Mercon and drove probably 20 miles.
I drained it again, and wiped it all down and installed a new gasket and refilled with 13 quarts of Mercon V.
It drove fine and actaully seemed to drive fine with the regular Mercon. I figure there are 13 quarts of Mercon V and One -+ quart of regular Mercon.
How bad of shape am I? Should I take it in and have the fluid exchanged? I figure I have 92% Mercon V and 8% Old Mercon.
What a pain, I gotta remember to double check EVERYTHING. I'm already out $90 (two bottle of Lucas, fluid, seal) and several hours but I don't want to be out a transmission.
My logic tells me I'm probably ok because they ran this transmission model with old Mercon. Also, Ford recommends to add Mercon V to old Mercon. However, this truck says V on the dip stick so I'm sure it came with V.
What would you do?

Why are you using Lucas? I'd be more concerned about that crap than the quart of old Mercon. You should only use additives for specific purposes - and the only time I'd put Lucas in a trans is if it's sick to keep it going just a bit longer before a rebuild.
Nope. All the Lucas oil treatment does is thicken the oil, which you do NOT want to do unless you have an old worn-out engine that's burning a lot of oil.
Additives are nothing but temporary patches in a can. All oil and transmission fluids have all the additives you need already in them. You even need to be careful using fuel additives.
