Actually, they cost nothing here after turning the old in for scrap. Old Ford cats bring around $200. New High flows which are OX emissions compliant cost on average $180 for what's required on these vehicles.

So yea, -you were screwed. Royally.

That is your price issue, Canadian Tire is not a strictly independent shop they acquire stock from who ever they can get and will mark up price based on what they are paying. They have no real discount overall, further ahead to go to a NAPA or Jobber that carries AC Delco or similar parts, as they get a bulk discount in comparison. Been down this road as well, sucks finding out you spent a butt load.

Jegs is even selling the 3" Walkers for 130 each...Canadian Dollar is around par....http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/15147/10002/-1

I think he's referencing stock replacements (direct fit), not universals.

Most of your "universal" ones are made cheap and offshore. I worked in the automotive industry and have seen way too many horror stories with that offshore crap. Most of the time it doesn't fit right or something is wrong with it and then your vehicle is sitting there while you are waiting for the new one to come in. Direct fits are alot easier to install and IMO better quality.

Maggnaflows are 10x better than the stock stuff Ford gives you.

Performancepeddler.com Then use promo ClubGP or do the best offer, both will be cheaper. That is where people are basing their prices off of.

If you are set on getting direct fits, then their gonna be expensive. The price of a universal cat plus installation is about half the price of direct fits w/o installation. And magnaflow makes great cats, should be about $120 for a set of 2 universals and no more that $100 for installation. Direct fits are normally $500+.

The average cost for a reasonable direct fit side is $300 +/-.
Then you need new OX sensors along with it.
The factory OEM for one side is over $1200 not includng labor by a shop or dealer.
Not hard to look this up and see the prices.
I have already replaced one side on my truck.
It works perfect.
Good luck.

I looked them up on Rock Auto and they have several to choose from.. My main objective is, I want some that will work for a few years, and don't want to do any wiring. But I will do the wiring if I have to to get good ones. Brand names don't mean much to me, as long as they are decent quality.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I will weld them on though, with coat hangers
Most people don't believe that, but it works well.
