Removing Body Side Moldings

how much does the side moulding cost. i took mine off, and wanting to sell it, I tried looking up a price but couldnt find it. any body know about how much they go for?

when you guys removed the trim was the paint the same as the rest? i want to take mine off but i don't want my truck to be a little faded with the stripes still looking good.

I did mine in 09 on my 98. If the truck has good paint and been washed and waxed regularly there shouldn't be any problems. It will take polishing compound and a

buffer to get it perfect, but it is totally worth it.

I ended up taking mine off and the paint was the same. My truck is an 01 and the moldings came off Dec of 2011.

Can't say that I have. I think people use eraser wheels for that. I know my buddy had some factory pin stripe removed from his 08 impala SS at a body shop for like $20 and it took only like 10 mins. The paint looked the same as well.

sweet sounds easy enough pin stripes are deff not my thing

any of you guys run into anything behind the moldings? i was gonna peel mine off my supercrew but when i started peeling back on my driver rear door, looked like some black plastic partially recessed into the skin of the door. anyone ever seen this before?

I'm thinking about taking mine off too, except I have one question..

Since my truck is bright red, do you think I'll see any differences in the color of paint behind the molding? From sun fading and all? and I don't want to rip it off and have even brighter red behind the molding...

There is a chance.

You can usually polish the truck and make it go away but you may still see it alittle if you look close.
