Question 03 f-150 fx4 lariat

Hello all,

I'm looking at buying a 2003 F150 FX4 Lariat with 220'000 miles on it for $7,750.00. Just wondering if it seems worth it and about how many miles I could expect out of this truck driving about 100 miles a day. Any advise is welcome, thanks in advance.

Yea, seems like a lot of miles for the price. Around here that price would buy you that truck with around half those miles. But depending on your area that could be fair.

No way should you buy a vehicle with that many miles on it if you are going to be driving it 100 miles a day. The engine and/or transmission could go at ANY time.

Which cab style? 5.4 engine?

You guys are wrecking the value of our trucks! People come on here and search what they think their truck might be worth before they sell.

We need to keep the value of them up! How you do this is say "You are getting a steal on that truck for $7750!"

I'm not going to tell someone a lie just to keep the value of something up.

You day drinking pizzaboy? Lol.

He asked if $7750 for a truck with 220k on it is worth it.

We should say, "Yes it is, the truck is worth double that!", that way when someone selling their truck is Googling online for "price of a 2003 FX4 with 220k miles" to get ideas of how much to sell it for and stumbles across this thread they will be like "oh yea, I'm going to ask 8k for my beat up pickup".

Keeps the resale value up so that when I go to sell my truck I don't have to practically give it away.

Yes, I am joking. A little Tuesday morning humor might be too much for this crowd.

I gave $6,500 for my 2002 with 173k on it. It's a supercrew FX4 XLT. Bought it six months ago. That was the cheapest price I found by $1,500 with around that many miles. Just FYI.

If you drive 100 miles a day, seriously you need something that gets better gas mileage and that is a lot to expect out of a truck with that many miles. It might do it for another 100k miles, you never know, but buying it with that expectation is a lot to expect.

I paid 10 grand for my '99 7 years ago. It had just turned 100k. I think I could sell it fairly easy for half that and its only got 145k on it now. Maybe a bit more. Since I sold the mustang the F150 is the house garage queen.. its nice..
